But, unfortunately going to Starbucks each time is not so easy. So I thought, I will just buy some of the original Starbucks syrup and make some latte for myself at home!
And I found some on eBay. Unopened. But it is so expensive. At the end, I was looking at 180$+ for one bottle. Is this the end I thought?
No. I can’t give up. I love pumpkin spice latte.
I will just make some!
You will need these ingredients:
- Half a cup (120ml) of water, and half a cup (100g) of sugar. I recommend using clean water. Mineral water, filtered water, etc. Just because then the syrup will last longer this way. I used de-ionized water.
- 2/3rd cup (160g) of canned pumpkin puree. You can also bake pumpkin in the oven and blend it into a puree yourself.
- 14 ounce (400g) of sweetened, condensed milk. They usually come in this size.
- Quarter of a teaspoon of salt.
- Half a teaspoon of Pumpkin Spice mix. It comes in a bag.
How to make it? Very simple!
- Mix the water and sugar in a bowl. Start the fire under it, let it warm up. No need to boil or anything. Once the sugar is dissolved in the water, you are good.
- Put in the rest of the ingredients. The pumpkin puree, the condensed milk, the salt, and the spice mix.
- Mix it all together. A hand blender might come in handy.
- And that’s it!
This is what it looked like when it’s done:

Brewing the first pumpkin spice & coffee!
And the taste is just like in Starbucks!
Honestly, I find it a bit too sweet like this because I usually went with a venti in Starbucks which meant a lot more milk to it. Next time I think I’ll skip the sugar from the sugar syrup and I’ll just add simple water instead. The condensed milk is already sugary enough.
Enjoy!
